ShopeeFood AI-Powered Meal Scheduling
Design a flow where users can plan, customize, and receive meals automatically using ShopeeFood.
Background

ShopeeFood is widely used for on-demand food delivery. However, many users order meals impulsively, leading to poor time management, unhealthy eating, or higher spending. For busy professionals, students, or families, planning meals in advance would save time and reduce stress.

Context

By introducing a meal scheduling feature (optionally AI-powered), ShopeeFood could let users pre-plan their daily or weekly meals. The system could recommend restaurants, cuisines, and portion sizes based on preferences, dietary needs, and budget, and automatically place or remind users about orders.

Business Objective
  • Increase order frequency and customer retention by building habitual usage (scheduled meals instead of one-off cravings).

  • Help ShopeeFood differentiate from competitors by becoming not just delivery-on-demand, but also a meal planning assistant.

  • Encourage users to spend more consistently with subscriptions and bundles.

Target User
  • Office workers with limited time to decide/order meals during lunch breaks.

  • Parents planning meals for their kids across the week.

  • Health-conscious users who want regularity and portion control.

Core Problem

How can ShopeeFood make meal planning and scheduling easy, reliable, and flexible, while still giving users control over last-minute changes?

Challenge

Design the UI flow and interaction that allows users to:

  1. 1. Create a meal schedule (daily or weekly).

  2. Receive AI-driven recommendations based on past orders, diet preferences, or budget.

  3. Lock in orders automatically or get a reminder before confirmation.

  4. Edit, skip, or swap meals flexibly without penalty.

  5. View a calendar/timeline of upcoming meals.

Constraints
  • Must integrate with existing ShopeeFood restaurant menus and checkout flow.

  • Keep user control: users should never feel “forced” into unwanted orders.

  • Work well for single meals and recurring routines (e.g., “Lunch every weekday at 12:30”).

  • Avoid overwhelming users — balance AI suggestions with simple manual options.
